Backflow Prevention

Providing safe drinking water to the City of Blue Ridge is our highest priority.

Regulated by Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), we follow strict standards to ensure that the public drinking water supply remains safe.

Our customers also have a responsibility to help keep the public water supply safe. If a source of water exists on your property, like an irrigation system or a pool, the possibility for contamination is there.

Backflow preventers are required to prevent contamination whenever there is an actual or potential hazard for a cross-connection to ensure you and the community’s water supply remains safe.

A Customer Service Inspection (CSI) shall be completed before the City provides continuous water service to new construction or on any existing service. The inspection should be done when a city representative suspects that cross-connections or other potential contaminant hazards exist or after any material improvement, correction, or addition to the customer’s private water system.
