Open Records
How Do I submit an Open Records Request?
- All Open Records requests MUST be in writing.
- A written request should reasonably identify the records needed/requested.
- Include mailing address, phone number, or other means to contact you regarding your request.
- There is NOT a specific form required for submitting a request, but one is provided in this packet for your convenience if you would like to use it.

May I burn trash and leaves inside the city limits?
No, burning is not allowed in the city limits. Please contact city hall if you have any questions.
May we pop Fireworks inside the City?
No - Fireworks are not allowed inside the City. Check for controlled fireworks events such as the Freedom Celebration at First Baptist Church Blue Ridge on Highway 78.
Court
Where is the Court located?
Court is located inside the Blue Ridge City Hall, 108 W James St. The Court times are 2:00 PM the second Thursday of each month unless otherwise stated.
Application Process
I am interested in applying for a job with the City of Blue Ridge, what do I do?
You will need to fill out an application if available. Please ensure you meet the qualifications for the position you wish to be considered for. If you would like to include a resume, simply attach it to the completed application. You may mail or drop off the application at City Hall. Interviews will be scheduled accordingly.
Does the City of Blue Ridge hire part time employees?
Yes, we do hire part time employees. Availability of these positions will be posted here when available.

How do I get on the City Council Agenda?
The Mayor sets the agenda. Call City Hall at 972-752-5791, fill out the form and drop it off at City Hall at 200 S. Main. The City Secretary will get the information to the Mayor.

When are the garbage collection days for my street?
Friday Mornings. Remember, observed holidays will alter the normal routine. Be sure to check with City Hall if you are in doubt or have questions, 972-752-5791. City Hall will also publish a reminder from our Alert System so you will receive a text message with information about different trash dates. Be sure to subscribe on our home page.

What do I do if I don't get my water bill?
What if I can't pay my water bill by the shut off date?
Where & how do I pay my water bill?
Why do I have a previous balance when I know I sent in my payment?
We may have received it after the due date or we may not have received it at all. Call our office and we will help you solve the problem.
What if I have a water or sewer leak after hours?
What do I do if I am experiencing low pressure?
Check your meter and the surrounding area for possible leaks. Next, call our office and report low pressure for your area.
Why is my water discolored?
A repair could have been completed recently allowing air to enter the line, causing the milky look. Contact City Hall and we will gladly investigate the situation.

Can we burn trash/brush inside the City?
No. Burning outdoor trash/brush/debris is not allowed. See Ordinance # 2019-0309-001.
When are water bills due?
PAYMENTS ARE DUE BY THE CLOSE OF BUSINESS ON THE 15th OF THE MONTH. Late fees will be applied after 5pm on the 15th of each month.

Where do I go to vote?
All City elections are conducted by the City of Blue Ridge please visit the elections page for locations and upcoming election information.
